The weather in Michigan has been great so far this summer. We have had plenty of sun, and almost no rain. This makes for easy planning of outdoor activities, but it is playing havoc on our lake levels. At this time of year we usually have several inches of water depth at the seawall. This year we have about 7 FEET of dry sand in front of the seawall! No one can remember the lake being down so much. I never thought I would say this in Michigan, but we could really use some rain!
I am afraid to take the boat out for hitting the prop. Thankfully, we can still kayak with no problems! Hope you are all having a good summer. Is it dry where you are???
We are finally getting some rain in Indiana, but the damage is already done. The lake at our apartment complex is almost completely out of water. Crops look terrible too. Hopefully we will keep getting rain and some will make it your way.
ReplyDeleteThanks Mary Ellen for sending it on. It is now Saturday night and there is a pretty good storm brewing here!!
DeleteIt's dry here too, fire bans, etc. but we've had a bit of rain over the past couple of weeks, which helps greatly. Our crops have suffered a lot. It's gonna be an expensive winter.
ReplyDeleteJust popping by to say "hello"...
Dawn
Well Dawn, I am glad that you decided to stop by and say "hello"!! We have run our AC more than ever this year. I am terrified to see the electric bill!!
DeleteDry is an understatement. Here in Oklahoma we're having flash backs to the dust bowl. I think it's a sign of the apocalypse.
ReplyDeleteHi Flea. Thanks for the comment. I have read about those dust bowls times - scary. Thankfully we have finally gotten a good day's rain here with more coming. Wishing you some rain soon!!
